Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3 cups bread flour All purpose works too
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine bread flour and salt.
  • Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until it forms a dough.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until it has doubled in size.
  • (At this point you could refrigerate until the next day, if you wanted to make it ahead)
  • Preheat your oven to the highest setting, typically around 475-500°F (245-260°C).
  • Punch down the dough and divide it into desired portions.
  • Roll out each portion into rounds on a floured surface. Transfer the rounds to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  • Add your favorite pizza toppings.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and has a chewy texture with bubbly edges.

Notes

To make ahead: let it rise, punch it down, an then in a covered bowl or in a bag refrigerate until the next day. Or you can freeze it. Just make sure you let it rise before. 
Add herbs and garlic to your dough if you want!
